• Hypnotherapy & Complementary Psychological Therapies

  • At Mindset Clinical Hypnotherapy, I base the core of my work around Hypnosis related therapies, including Hypno-analysis, Suggestion, Ego States/Parts and Visualisation.  These core Hypnotherapy procedures allow a client to not only establish new positive thought processes within their own subconscious but also to address as necessary, the more complex neurosis driven unwanted thinking, functioning and or behavioural issues, that manifest themselves through our subconscious.  Have a look at at the 'About Hypnosis' page to get a better understanding of this.

  • However because we are all unique with our very own experiences and the way we think or reflect about those experiences, it is often useful to adopt a varied mix of theraputic psychological approaches, in other words complementary therapies in order to assist a client in addressing their needs. Hence I am trained in and utilise the following psychotherapy based theraputic procedures:-

  • There are two prime aspects most often used in Hypnotherapy.  Suggestion work that all Hypnotherapists are taught in order to assist the client in modifying their subconscious thought process, whether its for a Driving test or to quit Smoking.  And then there's the more complex Hypno-analysis to aid Clients rid themselves of hidden subconscious neurosis (unwanted thinking, functioning and/or behaviour) At Mindset Clinical Hypnotherapy, I am a trained specialist in this area.

  • BWRT®’ stands for ‘BrainWorking Recursive Therapy®’, a model of psychology and psychotherapy created by UK professional therapist, Terence Watts,  It’s a totally confidential method that doesn’t require you to reveal your private information or personal secrets to your therapist, and is carried out in a completely conscious state. It doesn’t use hypnosis, it’s completely logical, practical and down-to-earth, and only needs you to know what you want to change in your life for it be completely successful. Only Certified Practitioners have been trained to deliver BWRT® and all have to adhere to a strict ethical code.

  • EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) involves ultimately the Client tapping on a select group of Energy Meridian points, similar to Acupuncture points, that can often assist unbelievably in releasing blocked energy/emotions in the body.  EFT has it's own webpage on this site which explains further, simply click on the EFT/Tapping title above.

  • Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a more spiritually focused catagorisation of a number of existing psychological theraputic approaches that focus specifically on the clients own conscious knowledge and thoughts to assist in addressing their symptoms.  These include:-

    • Being mindful of thoughts within the mind
    • Meditation or relaxation therapy
    • Lifestyle advice or coaching
    • Patterns of thinking and behaviour,
    • The main ways of thinking 'positively'
    • The main 'negative' thought types to avoid.
  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

Cognitive; as in your mental thought processes and Behavioural; to refer to everything you do, say or act out. So CBT is very much focused on practical techniques to assist a client in the way they think & feel by modifying the way they behave. Unlike many other therapies, it's results can be quantifiable and measured financially which is why it is a leading and approved therapy of choice for the NHS.  If a client is able to reason and think threw the suggested changes, these techniques can be very helpful.  Its when neurosis is under the surface, that that reasoning can be difficult to follow through.

  • Talk Therapy

I often say that therapy begins the moment a client enters the consulting room.  If you can appreciate that the source of ALL of the problems that Clients present with, manifest between their two ears i.e. their minds, you can then begin to appreciate first hand with your own experiences, just how powerful 'talking' can be.  Just the act of being able to share your thoughts, to vocalise them, to say things that you can't share with anyone else in the world, can be incredibly theraputic in itself.

  • So in essence, I follow the lead of the most successful therapists and that is to take the best, most suitable, most efficient procedures from each of the therapy models, that are within my capabilities as a therapist and will ultimate achieve a positive outcome for the client.
